Corrections Policy
Accuracy matters, especially when readers follow our steps on their own devices. This is how we handle mistakes.

How to report an error
Please use our contact page and choose the topic “Correction”. It helps if you include:
- the address (URL) of the page;
- the sentence or step you believe is wrong;
- what you think is correct, ideally with a link to official documentation;
- the device, operating system and version you are using, if relevant.
What happens next
- Acknowledgement. We aim to acknowledge correction requests within a few working days.
- Review. An editor checks the report against official sources and, where possible, the current version of the software or device.
- Action. If the guide is wrong, incomplete or out of date, we fix it as quickly as possible. Errors that could cause data loss or a security risk are treated as urgent.
- Reply. We let you know the outcome if you provided an email address.
How corrections are shown
- Significant corrections – a wrong command, an unsafe step or a factual error that changes the advice – are noted at the end of the article with the date and a short description of what changed, and the article’s “Updated” date is revised.
- Minor changes – spelling, formatting, broken links, or clarifications that do not change the meaning – are made without a note.
- Product changes – when a vendor changes its software (for example, renames a menu), we update the guide and its “Updated” date. This is maintenance rather than a correction.
Removal of content
If a guide can no longer be made accurate – for example because a product is discontinued – we will update it with a clear notice, redirect it to a better resource, or remove it.
Our commitment
We never quietly change a guide to hide a significant error. Thank you for helping us keep ByteWise IT Tips accurate.
